چکیده

The main phenological stages (budburst, flowering, veraison, and ripeness) of 53 Spanish minority varieties were studied to determine their potential help winegrowers adapt climate change conditions. In total, 43 in the same location Spain (Alcalá de Henares, Madrid region) 10 5 other regions (Galicia, Navarre, Catalonia, Extremadura, Andalusia). Other traits agronomic oenological interest, such as yield acidity, also monitored. results allow for grouping into several clusters according time ripeness (very early—only red varieties—and early, intermediate, late, both white varieties) (high, medium, low). total acidity grape juice ranged from 3 11 g tartaric acid/L. average temperatures higher (up 3–4 °C during summer) compared historical averages 1957–2021 period. Advanced phenology phases reduced are regarded negative effects winegrowing practices. Since some showed late or intermediate ripening, high (1 Kg/shoot) medium (0.5 yield, our findings suggest that they may be cultivated coming years by an approach mitigate effects.

Community-level phenological response to climate change.

Climate change may disrupt interspecies phenological synchrony, with adverse consequences to ecosystem functioning. We present here a 40-y-long time series on 10,425 dates that were systematically collected in a single Russian locality for 97 plant, 78 bird, 10 herptile, 19 insect, and 9 fungal phenological events, as well as for 77 climatic events related to temperature, precipitation, snow, i...

Adaptation to Climate Change

We investigate the effect of climate change on population growth in 18th and 19th century Iceland. We find that annual temperature changes help determine the population growth rate in preindustrial Iceland: a year 1◦C cooler than average drives down population growth rates by 0.57% in each of the next two years, for a total effect of 1.14%. We also find that 18th and 19th century Icelanders ada...

A global framework for monitoring phenological responses to climate change

[1] Remote sensing of vegetation phenology is an important method with which to monitor terrestrial responses to climate change, but most approaches include signals from multiple forcings, such as mixed phenological signals from multiple biomes, urbanization, political changes, shifts in agricultural practices, and disturbances. Consequently, it is difficult to extract a clear signal from the u...
